pre-Christmas update

I haven't been posting a lot lately because I've been busy preparing for my trip to visit my mother. I'm leaving Wednesday and coming back the following Wednesday. I'm proud of myself for managing to get everything I need into one suitcase. My right shoulder is injured, so I don't want to have to handle a lot of luggage. I've got one wheeled suitcase and one personal item which shouldn't be too heavy to tuck under my left arm, and I'm leaving it at that. My mom and my favorite aunt are going to meet me at the airport. ^_^ I've been downloading songs to listen to on the plane, since I can't read there due to airsickness.

Also, Kansan Entrails/Surrealist Dreamer is back in town for a short time, so I'm trying to spend as much time with her as I can before we both have to leave. <3 She made some cute presents for me, which really cheered me up after a rough patch last week.

Oh, and now I know how it feels to look at something through real shipper goggles instead of the half-assed shipper goggles I've apparently been using. KE showed me the ATLA comic she bought, and I was made ridiculously happy by a panel in which Haru and Teo were next to each other-- not doing anything overtly ship-teasing, just being in proximity. *facepalm* Some fans get excited over every little scrap of "it's practically canon if you squint!" when they're young and then grow out of it. I'm becoming a total sap in my old age.
