gryphonseggMy mom likes QVC and other shop-from-home things. I mean, she likes them A LOT. She likes to order things for other people, including me. She sends me stuff for every popular-in-the-US holiday and at seemingly random times throughout the year. Sometimes it's stuff I will use, like blankets and magnets. Sometimes it's stuff I could use in theory but probably won't, like make-up. And then other times it's just . . . whaaaat? Today I received the first of several promised packages. It contained a box of small, multicolored flashlights. I'd been thinking about getting a new flashlight, so that's good. But there are so many of them, and they're all in different bright, peppy colors. Maybe she meant for me to give them as Christmas gifts. Sometimes she sends me sets of the same thing so I can share them with friends or students or have a return gift on hand in case I get a gift from someone unexpected.
Anyway, it did cheer me up. I'd been feeling really low, and then I decided to open this box, and I was like Hey, this box contains a blanket and a smaller box . . . which contains more boxes that are smaller still. I wondered if the little boxes contained those little gift bottles of lotion or something like that because they were all the same size and different colors. It turned out to be flashlights all the way down. And now I'm just all Oh, Mom! XD It's a very my-mother thing to do. <3
