They're not even trying to hide it

Wow. The Republicans really are gunning for at least half the population. The sticking point in the budget controversy for the House Republicans is defunding Planned Parenthood. This is just the latest in a long list of attempts at the federal level and in various states to take away public programs that help women and/or children, restrict women's access to health care, narrow the definition of rape, cut the benefits and bargaining rights of employees in disproportionately female-heavy jobs . . . I could go on. And now they are determined to shut down the federal government unless funding for Planned Parenthood gets eliminated. That is what they want to stand on.
