Advise me, O List of Wisdom!

I haven't sold second hand items outside of yard sales before. Well, there was that one time, but it was not so much selling as donating an item to a fundraiser organized by someone else. I didn't handle the financial part. Now I have some things I would like to sell. Does anyone have any advice on how to go about it?
